Boo App legalPrivacy Policy
Last updated: 14 August 2026
This page explains, in plain language, what Boo App does with information that passes through booapp.net — what we keep, why we keep it, and how you can have it removed.
- Who we are. Boo App operates the website at booapp.net and the character chat showcase presented on it. When this policy says "we", it means the team running Boo App.
- Scope of this policy. This policy covers information handled through booapp.net. Third-party sites you reach from our links run their own policies, and we do not control them.
- Accepting the policy. By browsing Boo App or starting a chat you accept the practices described here. If you disagree with any part of it, please stop using the site.
- Age requirement. Boo App is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from minors and will delete such data if we discover it.
- Information you give us voluntarily. This includes anything you type into a chat, a support message, or a form: a nickname, preferences, moods you select, and free-text messages.
- Information collected automatically. Standard server records such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, requested URL, timestamps and rough region derived from the IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use a small number of cookies to keep your session alive, remember interface preferences, and measure aggregate traffic. No cookie on Boo App stores the content of your conversations.
- Managing cookies. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time. Some parts of Boo App, including staying signed in, may stop working smoothly if you do.
- Analytics. Aggregate analytics tell us which pages people open and where they leave. Reports are grouped, not tied to individual identities.
- Why we process data. To operate the site, keep chats available, prevent abuse, respond to enquiries, fix technical faults, understand demand and comply with legal obligations.
- Legal grounds. Depending on where you live, our grounds include performing our agreement with you, our legitimate interest in a secure functioning service, your consent, and legal compliance.
- Chat content. Conversation history is stored so a character can continue where you left off. It is linked to your account and is not published, sold, or displayed to other users.
- Sensitive information. Please do not send financial details, government identifiers, health records or other sensitive material through a chat window. We do not need it and do not ask for it.
- Sharing with service providers. We share limited data with hosting, storage, security and analytics providers who process it on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
- Advertising partners. Where campaigns run, partners may receive aggregate or pseudonymised event data. They do not receive the text of your conversations.
- Legal disclosure. We may disclose information when a valid legal request requires it, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Boo App is sold, merged or restructured, stored information may transfer to the new operator, who must continue to honour this policy or notify you of changes.
- International transfers. Our infrastructure may process data in countries other than yours. Where required we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
- Security measures. We use encrypted transport, access controls, restricted administrative accounts and routine patching. No online service can promise perfect security.
- Data breach handling. If a breach is likely to affect you materially, we will notify affected users and the relevant authority within the timeframes our law requires.
- Retention. We keep data only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, plus any period required by law. Inactive records are removed on a rolling schedule.
- Your access rights. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, along with an explanation of how it is used.
- Correction and deletion. You may ask us to correct inaccurate details or delete your data. Where deletion conflicts with a legal duty, we will explain what we must keep and why.
- Objection and restriction. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, or ask us to restrict processing while a dispute about accuracy is resolved.
- Portability. Where technically feasible, we will provide the data you supplied in a common machine-readable format.
- Withdrawing consent. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
- Marketing messages. If you subscribe to updates, each message includes an unsubscribe link. Operational notices about the service itself are not marketing.
- Automated decisions. Boo App does not make automated decisions that produce legal effects for you. Character replies are generated content, not decisions about you.
- Third-party links. Links may take you to sites we do not operate. Read their policies before sharing anything with them.
- Do Not Track. Browser Do Not Track signals are not standardised. We do not respond to them, but we also do not build cross-site profiles of visitors.
- Fictional characters. Every character shown on Boo App is fictional and every profile image is generated. No real person is represented and no real person receives your messages.
- Complaints. If you believe we handled your data badly, contact us first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
- Changes to this policy. We may update this policy as the service changes. The revision date at the top of the page always shows the current version.
- How to contact us. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@booapp.net and we aim to reply within thirty days.
